FIX Protocol

The Financial Information eXchange (FIX) protocol is an electronic communications protocol developed for international real-time exchange of information related to the securities transactions and markets. CAX FOREX API uses the FIX protocol subset to receive market data and/or manage orders. Our proprietary Market Data Server (MDS) is the CAX FX software component used by our clients to receive market data. The Order Entry Server (OES) is another CAX FX software component used by our clients to in order to manage market orders.

The following figure illustrates a scenario of a client that wants to receive market data and manage orders. Notice that the client must make two connections, one connection to the CAX Market Data Server (MDS) and one to the CAX Order Entry Server.

Please note that you must qualify as an ECP, "Eligble Contract Participant", per CFTC regulations, to trade on the CAX.
